XION introduces USDC Gas Fee feature to simplify the Web3 experience for regular users.

Remove the barriers of using native tokens and accelerate mass adoption.

XION is the first Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for mainstream users, eliminating the need for a wallet. Today, XION officially launched the USDC Gas Fee feature, allowing users to pay transaction fees directly using USDC without the need to acquire or swap for the native token $XION.

With this feature, XION users will no longer face the hassle of wallet configuration, cross-chain asset transfers, or token management. Users can simply use USDC—a stable and widely accepted cryptocurrency—to pay transaction fees, with the protocol handling the rest automatically. Behind the scenes, the system converts USDC into $XION to support the ecosystem, making the process completely seamless and invisible to the user.

By removing this critical barrier, XION significantly enhances the user experience and takes another step toward its vision of "making crypto invisible," simplifying Web3 to the point where users don’t even have to think about blockchain. This is one of the reasons why XION achieves a remarkable 97% conversion rate for new users, compared to the industry average of only 5%.

"Web3 is still a terrible experience for most people," said XION’s founder Anthony Anzalone, also known as Burnt Banksy. "If someone wants to try out a new app, they usually have to figure out which token the chain uses, buy it on an exchange, bridge it, and sometimes even wrap it, all while praying nothing goes wrong. Most people give up at the first step. XION eliminates all of that."

With the USDC Gas Fee feature, XION users can pay transaction fees using only USDC, without purchasing or managing the native token $XION. The protocol automatically converts USDC into $XION in the background for settlement, requiring no additional actions or technical knowledge from the user. This seamless experience not only sustains the ecosystem’s operations but also simplifies usage, allowing users to enjoy an intuitive and smooth blockchain interaction while preserving the core mechanics of the underlying chain.

The ability to pay gas fees with USDC represents a fundamental shift in blockchain usability. By enabling users to transact using a currency they are familiar with, XION drastically lowers the barriers to entry and makes it easier for those who might have otherwise been deterred by complex processes to join the Web3 space.

"If you have one dollar, you can use that dollar to buy, spend, or even develop right away," Anzalone stated. "Web3 should cater to real-world users, not just the crypto-native elite."

This feature launch coincides with Circle's announcement of its IPO, further highlighting the strategic alignment between XION and Circle. As a major investor in XION, Circle’s involvement enhances the platform’s credibility and real-world applicability. The feature is now live and available to all users.
