Gate has officially launched Gate Layer, optimizing the GT token economy to accelerate the ecosystem's infrastructure upgrade.

BlockBeats News, September 25th, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange platform Gate announced the official launch of the new Layer 2 network Gate Layer and simultaneously optimized the platform's native token GT tokenomics.

Gate Layer is built on the industry-leading OP Stack to create a high-performance Layer 2 network, fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and secured by GateChain as the main chain settlement layer to ensure security. It also enhances network stability through the GT staking mechanism.

In terms of performance, Gate Layer supports over 5,700 transactions per second, with a block generation time of just 1 second and transaction fees much lower than most existing Layer 2 networks; on the cross-chain side, it achieves multi-chain interoperability through LayerZero. In terms of ecosystem development, Gate Layer, based on the "high-performance Layer 2 network" as the infrastructure foundation, aligns with the "All in Web3" core strategy, launching three core tools: Perp, Gate Fun, and Meme Go, accurately covering users' full-scenario needs from asset issuance, trading to value creation.

GT will serve as the sole Gas token for Gate Layer, and while expanding its use cases, it will continue the dual deflationary mechanism of "regular burning + on-chain incineration," with a cumulative burn ratio of 60.18%. At the same time, GateChain has been upgraded to v1.20, further enhancing scalability and security.
