Cairo unveils roadmap: The new contract syntax will be launched in conjunction with Starknet alpha v0.12.0.
BlockBeats News, on June 29th, the programming language Cairo announced its roadmap and created a public board to describe some upcoming new features for community convenience. Soon, a new contract syntax will be released along with Starknet alpha v0.12.0, requiring some code changes and greatly enriching the smart contract language. With the release of Cairo 1.1.0 on the Starknet mainnet and the upcoming v2 version, it has reached an important milestone in language maturity, with resources such as documentation, books, and Starknet Discord available to help users start and migrate from Cairo 0.
With the release of the new contract syntax, Cairo is now stable and rich enough to support complex applications and port existing Cairo 0 logic. In addition, Starknet's backward compatibility guarantee ensures that even if the language undergoes major changes, users will have enough time (at least six months) to complete contract development, review, and deployment.
