Coinbase Singapore requires users to provide counterparty information to comply with anti-money laundering regulations.
According to BlockBeats news on September 6th, Coinbase Singapore users must provide additional counterparty information when depositing or withdrawing cryptocurrencies from their accounts starting from September 5th. Coinbase Singapore stated that these measures were introduced to comply with the Monetary Authority of Singapore's (MAS) regulations on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism.
When receiving cryptocurrency deposits from outside its platform, Coinbase Singapore also requires users to provide information about the sender, including their full name and country/region of residence. Coinbase stated that if users fail to provide the required information, their cryptocurrency transactions will not be processed.
