Former Binance executives Gleb Kostarev and Vladimir Smerkis launch new crypto trading platform Blum
BlockBeats news, on March 4, according to Bloomberg, former Eastern European Binance executives Gleb Kostarev and Vladimir Smerkis will join forces to create a new encryption platform called “Blum” a few months after leaving Binance. Blum will allow users to transact directly through third-party crypto wallets on multiple blockchain networks, the statement said. The trading platform is expected to be launched for the first time later this month, Kostarev said.
Kostarev said the platform will enable cryptocurrency projects to automatically list their tokens for trading and use software to conduct basic checks on a project’s technology, liquidity and existing user base. Blum was selected by Binance Labs to participate in its accelerator program this month, according to a post on X. The company is headquartered in Dubai but is unsure whether it will choose the United Arab Emirates as the location for its global headquarters. They are currently in talks to raise funding for the business from outside investors and hope to close the round later this month.
In September last year, it was reported that Gleb Kostarev, Binance’s head of Eastern Europe and Russia, and Vladimir Smerkis, Binance’s general manager of Russia and CIS, announced their resignations.
