Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission warns TCAME and BitCloud of suspected virtual asset fraud, urging investors to be vigilant
According to BlockBeats, on April 12, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong issued a consumer warning, reminding the public to beware of cryptocurrency trading platforms named "TCAME" and "BitCloud", saying that they are suspected of engaging in fraudulent activities related to virtual assets and falsely claiming to have obtained licenses or certificates in different jurisdictions.
The two platforms claim to provide cryptocurrency trading services and introduce investors to their websites for registration through social media and instant messaging software. Some investors subsequently reported problems with withdrawals, such as being asked to make additional deposits, and some accounts were frozen.
Currently, TCAME and BitCloud and their websites have been included in the SFC's warning list of suspicious virtual asset trading platforms. Although the relevant websites are now inaccessible, the SFC still reminds the public to be vigilant that these entities may establish new websites with similar domain names to mislead investors.
