P’Nut's owner recently adopted a Miniature Dachshund named Howard

2025-03-08 21:22

BlockBeats News, March 8th, according to the New York Post report, Mark Longo, the owner of P’Nut, found love again in New York four months after the infamous squirrel was killed by officials. Mark Longo stated that he recently adopted a mini Dachshund named Howard and believes that this little dog "might be" the reincarnation of his beloved squirrel P’Nut. "Seeing him run around outside and become best friends with the cat reminded me of P’Nut."

34-year-old Mark Longo and his 28-year-old wife, Daniela Bittner, decided two weeks ago to adopt Howard from a neighbor, despite their initial hesitation. "For me and my family, this has been an emotional time... I have been hesitant about getting a new pet because of what happened."

They are still mourning P’Nut, who was brutally taken away on October 30th by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation officials during a raid at their home on Long Island and an animal shelter. The state government claimed they needed to test it for rabies, and the rabies test required a decapitation because P’Nut had bitten one of the officials during the incident.
