The Sky community is considering a final proposal to replace MKR with SKY as the sole governance token.

BlockBeats News, May 1st, Sky's core governance design team Atlas Axis submitted a proposal on Wednesday that, if approved, would complete the protocol upgrade from MKR to SKY. This transition would make SKY the sole governance token and introduce staking to unlock USDS rewards for SKY holders.

Sky co-founder Rune Christensen praised the proposal as a "major milestone" in a forum post. While USDS and SKY are being introduced as upgrade tokens, DAI and MKR will still be in circulation, and users can choose to convert their held tokens to the new ones to facilitate a gradual transition.
