BlockBeats News, May 21st, according to Decrypt's report, an American tourist lost over $123,000 in cryptocurrency in a suspected premeditated theft case in London's West End, after a brief stay in the city and a night out.

Jacob Irwin-Cline from Portland, Oregon, left the nightclub The Roxy in the Soho area around 1:30 a.m. on May 9th after calling an Uber, as he was on a two-day layover in the city.

Police stated that a driver learned his name from the app and intercepted him on-site. Subsequently, Irwin-Cline requested to view the nightclub's CCTV footage, which showed him getting into a dark-colored sedan instead of the Toyota Prius displayed on his Uber app. The driver then handed him a cigarette, suspected to be laced with a sedative.

Under the influence of the drug, Irwin-Cline inadvertently revealed his phone's unlock code, allowing the perpetrator to access his encrypted accounts, after which he was dumped in an unfamiliar area of London. The police later confirmed that the attacker, after forcibly logging into his Revolut account, directly accessed his cryptocurrency wallet.
