BlockBeats News, August 26th, according to Axios, the world's largest prediction market Polymarket has received investment from Donald Trump Jr., the son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, through his investment fund. Donald Trump Jr., who joined 1789 Capital last year, invested tens of millions of dollars in Polymarket. He will also join Polymarket's advisory board.
Sources revealed that Omeed Malik, the founder of 1789 Capital, started engaging with Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan approximately 18 months ago, but the company did not invest until it had a clear legal pathway in the U.S. market.
1789 Capital's portfolio also includes Anduril and SpaceX, and they believe that Polymarket has the potential to become a future IPO candidate.
Earlier this year, Donald Trump Jr. joined Polymarket's competitor Kalshi as a strategic advisor. His role at Kalshi is a paid advisory position and does not involve an investment. Currently, it appears that he is involved with both platforms simultaneously.
