BlockBeats News, September 11th, the S&P 500 index hit an intraday all-time high.
JPMorgan Chase estimates that the scale of U.S. stock buybacks will increase by another $600 billion on top of this year's record-breaking $1.5 trillion. In just 8 months, the global buyback scale has reached last year's $1.37 trillion, meaning it could reach $1.9 trillion by 2025, a 38% increase.
Despite strong trading volumes, buybacks relative to market capitalization are still below historical peaks (2.6% in 2007, 5% in 2007). While IPO activity is sluggish, record buybacks are reducing stock supply for the fourth consecutive year, continuing to support the market. (Kinetic Mind)
