BlockBeats News, October 3rd. Due to the U.S. government shutdown since Wednesday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics did not release the U.S. September non-farm payrolls report as scheduled at 20:30 Beijing time. This is the first time this has happened since 2013. In that year, the government shutdown prevented the non-farm payrolls, originally scheduled to be released on October 4th, from being issued on time, eventually delaying it by nearly three weeks until October 22nd.
This week, other economic data not released due to the U.S. government shutdown includes: initial jobless claims, construction spending m/m, factory orders m/m, and durable goods orders m/m.
According to U.S. media reports, the U.S. Senate on the 3rd will once again vote on a continuing resolution to extend federal government funding. If it does not pass, the federal government shutdown may continue into next week. (FXStreet)
