BlockBeats News, October 15th, according to official sources, NBCUniversal announced it will continue to deepen its collaboration with Aptos Labs, integrating blockchain technology into digital media and entertainment experiences. The two parties are jointly advancing two key projects: the decentralized media operating system Watchee and the interactive entertainment platform Backlot Club.
Watchee, built by Aptos Labs for NBCUniversal and supported by the first decentralized cloud-level hot storage protocol Shelby, aims to redefine the distribution, access, and interaction of media assets, driving cross-platform content circulation. Watchee has now opened up for waitlist registration and is expected to launch in the first to second quarter of 2026.
Backlot Club is an interactive entertainment platform launched by NBCUniversal this year, providing fans with a new immersive experience through themed challenges, digital badges, and reward mechanisms. The platform made its debut during the "Halloween Horror Nights 2025" at Universal Studios Orlando Resort and Hollywood Universal Studios, integrating an interactive treasure hunt game supported by Aptos Labs technology. The platform is now officially launched and operational.
This collaboration further solidifies Aptos's position as a global enterprise blockchain infrastructure provider, offering a new technological landscape for the digital transformation of the traditional entertainment industry.
