BlockBeats News, November 4th, Berachain released an update announcement stating that most key partners are ready, except for one oracle provider. Given the recent issues with Stream/Elixir, the oracle provider has come under significant strain in the past 24 hours. They hope to resume operations within a few hours. Once the oracle is back online and the blockchain begins producing blocks, Berachain will release another update.
During this time, the team has verified and received presigned transactions from the whitehat individual currently holding the stolen BEX funds. Once the blockchain resumes block production, these transactions will transfer the BEX funds from the whitehat to the foundation deployer's wallet, removing reliance on the whitehat. If the recovery process goes smoothly, Berachain will share the latest updates with the community.
In a statement yesterday, the Berachain Foundation said, "Validator nodes have coordinated to pause the Berachain network's operation to allow the core team to perform an emergency hard fork to address the Balancer V2-related vulnerability on BEX. This network pause is planned, and the network will resume operation shortly."
