SBF to Appeal Against 25-Year Sentence, Arguing FTX Case Was "Presumed Guilty"

2025-11-04 21:32

BlockBeats News, November 4th, according to Bloomberg, SBF's lawyer will appeal to the appellate court, arguing that the media, prosecutors, and U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan at the time rushed to a judgment, leading to his wrongful conviction. SBF's lawyer is requesting a new judge for a retrial. The defense team argues that SBF had no intention to defraud customers, always believing that user funds would be fully repaid, and that Judge Kaplan erroneously prevented him from informing the jury of the "FTX has sufficient assets to repay exchange users" key fact.

According to a source familiar with the matter earlier this year, in addition to the appeal, SBF's parents have been seeking a pardon from President Donald Trump.
