BlockBeats News, November 13th, according to Korean media reports, 78-year-old South Korean individual crypto investor Mr. Kim Jusik donated 1 Bitcoin to Seoul University Hospital Development Fund, worth approximately 157 million Korean won. Mr. Kim stated at the donation ceremony: "I believe Bitcoin is a new donation tool that aligns with the trend of the times. I hope this donation can be an opportunity to spread a new culture of sharing, and I also hope to continue this form of sharing in the future." Mr. Kim is an investor with a strong interest in future technologies such as digital assets, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. In August of this year, he also donated 1 Bitcoin each to the Korean Red Cross and the Seoul Metropolitan Government Social Welfare Fund.
His donation to the Red Cross is the first high-value individual donation of digital assets after the Financial Services Commission of Korea allowed non-profit organizations to conduct virtual asset donation transactions for the purpose of liquidation. Seoul University Hospital will cash out this donation according to the virtual asset liquidation guide to use it for the hospital's development fund.
