Putin: The 'metasurverse' should be used to push the boundaries of physics and not become a hotbed of escapism
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the use case of the "metasurverse" should be used to push the boundaries of physical distance and facilitate communication and learning, rather than becoming a hotbed of escapism. Putin said: "I would remind people that the metasomes were invented 30 years ago by a famous science fiction writer who envisioned escaping to a metasomes from an imperfect reality. It's so pessimistic that I don't think people need to go down that path. We should use some of the functions of the metasomes to enable people to break down the boundaries of physical distance and communicate, work and learn with people who are thousands of miles apart."
Mr Putin believes the metasomes will be a real challenge for tech companies, makers of virtual and mixed reality equipment, and even for the jurists who must order this "Brave New World". Mr Putin explained that it was not just about ensuring the security of individuals in cyberspace, but also of their virtual identities in the "metasomes".
