Avalanche author Neil Stephenson has teamed up with the Bitcoin Foundation to launch the metacosmic blockchain Lamina1

BlockBeats news, June 9th, Neal Stephenson, author of the science fiction book Avalanche, and Peter Vessenes, founder of New Alchemy and co-founder of the Bitcoin Foundation, announced the launch of Lamina1, a Laver1 blockchain designed for the metaverse, They are chairman and chief executive respectively. Lamina1 is scheduled to launch later this year, with the ultimate goal of creating an immersive 3D virtual world inspired by the novel itself. Metaverse is said to have originated from The 1992 novel Avalanche by Neil Stephenson.
