I. Introduction to Gitcoin

Gitcoin is a community-driven digital product development platform that creates financial freedom and defines the future of the open web.

Gitcoin is an open source software development incentive platform launched in 2017. It aims to support various open source projects through blockchain and promote the development of open source movement. Blockchain projects can find developers in need on this platform with a certain reward. As Gitcoin has grown, it has branched out into Hackathons, crowdfunding Grants, accelerators and social attributes like Kudos.

Since launching in November 2017, Gitcoin has facilitated 1,699,878 completed transactions for 10,035 different Earners, raising a total of more than $36 million.

The Gitcoin Donation campaign has previously funded quality projects such as Uniswap, Dark Forest, Coin Center, POAP and Bankless.

Below are some of the best projects from round 14. This is just my opinion, not investment advice.

Lighthouse is one of the leading implementations of Ethereum 2.0 with a strong focus on security and performance.

11) Punk Domains

Punk domains are more than domains (in the Web2 sense). This is about identity in the web3 world. A domain name gives you a digital identity, and the data attached to that identity reinforces it.

The other thing Punk Domains values is total decentralization. These contracts are non-upgradable and do not require any administrator (or similar external software) to function properly.

15) Umbra

As a protocol, Umbra defines a simple set of standards, plus a singleton smart contract instance, to support invisible addresses on Ethereum. With invisible addresses, the payer can send an Ether or ERC20 Token to an address controlled by the recipient, but no one knows who the recipient is except for both parties.
