2023 is shaping up to be a big year for airdrops.

In recent years, users have received more than RMB yuan of delicious candies from some popular projects, such as OP, ENS, UNI, APT and so on.

But there are more opportunities around the corner.

Here are 19 upcoming drops I'm watching.

While truly lucrative airdrops are few and far between, you can earn hundreds (or thousands) of dollars with very little effort.

While it may take some time and patience, it will be well worth it in the long run!

This article will focus on 20 airdrops, which I think are the "pillars" you should aim for this year.

I'll be Posting more on smaller ecosystem airdrops in the future.

This list is in no particular order. Let's get started!

1. Vela exchange

Vela is a perpetual DEX launched on the Arbitrum blockchain.

Their private beta will be available in 2 days and their public beta will be available in 2 weeks.

2. Aztec Network

Aztec is a privacy-first zk-rollup on Ethereum, bringing privacy and cost savings to the Ethereum ecosystem.

They recently raised $100 million, led by a16z.

3. zkSync

It's clear that ZK is the future of expanding Ethereum, and zkSync is at the forefront of this innovation.

The airdrop may be too late, but it seems to me still worth a try.

This drop could be big, so there might be enough room.

4. Scroll

Scroll is another ZkevM-based zkRollup that enables native compatibility with existing Ethereum applications and tools.

They recently hinted at airdrops, saying they were "creating an incentive to participate."

5. LayerZero

LayerZero is the ultimate interoperability layer, and it's a story I'm really excited about.

Like zkSync, this is getting saturated, but it takes very little time (and it's interesting to use and experiment with the ecosystem).

6. Shardeum

Shardeum is about to introduce linearly scalable L1 that utilizes dynamic state sharding.

Five percent of the tokens are reserved for the community and distributed by air drop.

7. Sei Network

Built on Cosmos, Sei is the first industry-specific L1 dedicated to deals that "provide an unfair advantage to the trading platform."

8. StarkNet

9. Gammax Exchange

An upcoming project on StarkNet that I really like is GammaX.

It is an order-book DEX that utilizes StarkEX technology.

10. Neutron

Neutron is intended to be the premier place to deploy Interchain SC on Cosmos.

Neutron is funded by $ATOM, so the pledge of $ATOM is likely to be the recipient of the airdrop.

However, there may be more distribution methods in the future.

11. Celestia

Celestia is a modular network that enables anyone to easily deploy their own blockchain with minimal overhead.

For airdrops, consider:

12. Fuel Labs

Fuel Labs is building Fuel, "the world's fastest modular execution layer."

Their Beta-2 test net recently went live, which means early adopters may have an airdrop.

13. Quai Network

It has five test nets activated before the main net (hence the possibility of airdrops), as well as the use of incentives.

This is probably the most anticipated airdrop yet.

Is it too late to qualify? Probably.

Vertex is another upcoming perp DEX on Arbitrum.

17. MetaMask

Tribe3 was the first gamified NFT futures DEX.

I think there is a lack of NFT trading solutions in the market, and this is a refreshing attempt at existing models.

Their test net has just been activated, which could be a critical prerequisite for airdrops.

Here are some tips for newcomers to airdrop games:

1. Keep abreast of project updates.

If you're going to qualify for airdrop, it's important to know the latest news.

Make sure you join their Discord (you can create a dedicated Discord folder to keep track of all your airdrops).

You can also follow your favorite projects on Twitter.

This is a great topic that details some key airdrop agricultural management techniques, including:

2. Speaking of airdrop hunting -- there are no guarantees.

In fact, many times the amount is negligible, or the project does not issue airdrops.

But, all you need is to catch someone who makes it worth your while.

We must also manage our expectations.

Some of these drops may indeed be worth thousands of dollars, but some may end up being only a few hundred dollars, or less than $100.

Every dollar counts, and by doing more, you're more likely to be a big winner over time.

3. Many of these agreements may also have airdrops for projects in their own ecosystems.

So, for example, if you think it's too late to qualify for an airdrop from LayerZero or Arbitrum -- start searching their ecosystem for unreleased projects that might have airdrops.
