Nostr's emergence has ignited Web3.0 social networking. Its first client, Damus, was recommended by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and climbed to the top ten free social networking apps on the US App Store within two days of its launch. Damus also took advantage of the momentum by launching a small BTC random reward activity within its own application. As long as users initiate a reward request under a specific post, they have the chance to receive a few dollars in rewards.

Many readers may not be familiar with the Lightning Network, and the popularization and use of Bitcoin wallets have not been widely spread in recent years as in other fields. Therefore, this article combines the popular science content about the Lightning Network published by Cos (余弦), the founder of SlowMist Technology, on Twitter, to teach everyone how to initiate small tips within Damus through the Lightning Network.

Following is the lightning network popular science content released by Cos (余弦).

The following image shows 4 options, each representing an address. Can you guess which one is the address code for Bitcoin Lightning Network? The answer was provided by the Keystone hardware wallet product manager, and I have optimized the answer.

What are these addresses in the picture?

The answer is as follows:

 A. Lightning Invoice(LNURL)

B. BTC Taproot Address

C. lndhub wallet backup

D. Lightning Address

Many people are interested in this, so let me elaborate a bit. By the way, I will also briefly discuss the lightning network usage strategy related to the Nostr protocol ecosystem.

Please note that C is like a "private key" and should not be shared.

The address D has very high readability and can be used as your continuous payment address for the Lightning Network. You can choose your preferred domain name suffix at http://lightningaddress.com.

Additionally, A is your one-time payment Invoice address for the Lightning Network, which becomes invalid after receiving payment.

Using the example of the Damus application on the Nostr protocol, you can enter your D or A address in the BITCOIN LIGHTNING TIPS section by going to your personal page -> Edit in the upper right corner.

You can also directly send a POST with your A address to see the effect of lightning network tipping. However, this type of payment can only be received once, as the A address is disposable.

The Lightning Network wallet I mainly use is bluewalletio, depending on personal preference. If you interact with Lightning Network payments on damusapp, you will see that there are quite a few Lightning Network wallets supported.

These strategy fragments were briefly mentioned earlier, and it was found that many people may still not be clear about them. Here, I will talk about them in full, and welcome reposts.

Finally, I would like to emphasize again that for unfamiliar ecosystems, it is important to be cautious and familiarize oneself with them to avoid asset losses.

How to initiate a payment request within Damus? BlockBeats has compiled and written the following:

This tutorial assumes that the user does not yet have a Bitcoin wallet.

According to the above summary, you need to find a Bitcoin wallet that supports the Lightning Network. Here we take bluewalletio, which is commonly used by cosine, as an example. After downloading it through the official channel, create a new "Lightning" wallet. After clicking "Create", a QR code and an Indhub starting number (similar to the existence of a private key) will be automatically generated. Please keep the QR code properly or record the Indhub starting number. After that, click "OK, I save it", and we already have a Lightning Network wallet.

Later, we enter the wallet and click on the "Receive" button in the lower left corner, then enter the page to create an invoice. We enter the amount of Sats we want to receive in the blue text area at the top.

(BlockBeats Note:  Sats is the abbreviation of satoshis, the smallest unit of BTC. Satoshi comes from the pseudonym of the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. One satoshi (sat) is equal to 0.00000001 BTC.)

Here we try 15000Sats, click "Create Invoice". After a short wait, a new QR code and an address starting with Inbc will appear.

We copied the address starting with Inbc and opened Damus. We found Damus's official account and replied to this post with the address we just copied. Damus will automatically display it as shown in the figure below. This activity has been supported for a period of time, and the official has not given an end time. As an effective means of drainage, Damus may also launch similar interactive activities in the future.
