The Sei Development Foundation has announced that native USDC will soon be available on the Circle Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2) on the Sei Network, the fastest high-performance Layer-1 blockchain in terms of transaction speed. This integration will position Sei as the preferred network for enterprises and developers seeking a reliable, transparent digital dollar solution with seamless cross-chain capabilities.
“The integration of native USDC with CCTP V2 on Sei will create new opportunities for enterprises to leverage digital dollar infrastructure—exactly the high-performance channel we have built for the digital asset market,” said Justin Barlow, Executive Director of the Sei Development Foundation. “Developers are launching new products and services daily on Sei ranging from DeFi to DeSci and the gaming sector, and this upgrade enables enterprises to access institutional-grade stablecoin functionality while benefiting from Sei’s optimized high-throughput infrastructure.”
The native USDC will provide Sei’s ecosystem with a stablecoin backed by a 100% reserve and redeemable on a 1:1 basis against the US dollar. Sei’s parallelized EVM infrastructure achieves 400-millisecond finality, providing an ideal high-throughput environment for complex DeFi and gaming applications. Sei will be the 13th blockchain to support CCTP V2, enabling near-instant USDC transfers and supporting automated on-chain operations through Hooks functionality.
The integration of native USDC with CCTP V2 positions Sei as a competitive platform in the rapidly expanding decentralized finance ecosystem for enterprises seeking transparent digital asset infrastructure. For more details on the integration, please refer to the Circle accompanying blog post.
Sei is the fastest Layer-1 blockchain providing a high-performance channel for the digital asset market. Since its mainnet launch in 2023, it has processed billions of transactions from over 35 million wallets. The V3 Giga upgrade currently running on the testnet will enhance Sei's performance to exceed existing EVM chains by 50 times, offering a groundbreaking scaling solution for the Ethereum ecosystem. The team is backed by top institutions such as Multicoin, Jump, and Coinbase Ventures.
