On November 13, 2025, the Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) project Acurast announced it has raised a total of $11 million in funding and will officially launch its Genesis Mainnet on November 17, 2025, introducing the native token $ACU. Acurast is dedicated to building a decentralized, verifiable global computing network that transforms smartphones into secure and verifiable compute nodes.

This $11 million funding includes non-dilutive funding and token-based financing from 2023 to 2025, with an oversubscribed public token sale held on CoinList in May 2025 raising $5.4 million. The investor lineup includes Ethereum co-founder and Polkadot founder Dr. Gavin Wood; peaq founder Leonard Dörlochter; MN Capital founder Michael van de Poppe; Scytale Digital; GlueNet founder and CoinDesk "Most Influential" awardee Ogle; and Sigma Capital CEO Vineet Budki, among others.

Acurast founder Alessandro De Carli stated: "The Mainnet launch signifies Acurast truly becoming an open global compute fabric accessible to the real world. Billions of smartphones globally are the most battle-tested hardware on Earth. By enabling idle smartphones to participate in verifiable, private computation, we eliminate centralized gatekeepers, reduce costs, and democratize secure, trustless compute for anyone, anywhere, without the need for data centers."

Acurast has demonstrated enterprise-scale on its incentivized testnet:

· Access to 146,443+ smartphones providing compute power;

· Developers have completed 85,784+ deployments;

· The network has processed 4.89 billion+ on-chain transactions;

· Generated 179,000 on-chain accounts.

These real devices have undertaken tasks with extremely high confidentiality and integrity requirements. Plans, including "Cloud Rebellion," are further expanding the network's footprint and rewarding early contributors.

Acurast's core strength lies in combining consumers' smartphones' tamper-resistant execution environment with hardware security validation. Unlike relying on self-attested configurations in the compute market or server-based TEE schemes, Acurast verifies each device's authenticity cryptographically and executes tasks in an encrypted enclave, ensuring that even the device owner cannot access sensitive data, thus achieving censorship resistance and decentralized secure computation.

Sigma Capital CEO Vineet Budki stated: "Acurast is building a user-owned compute layer that aligns perfectly with the direction of AI. Hardware validation, enclave-based confidentiality, and the potential scale of billions of smartphones together create a moat that the traditional server model would find hard to replicate."

MN Capital Founder Michael van de Poppe added: "Acurast's execution is impressive — they have truly delivered a product and validated demand even before the mainnet launch. Enabling everyday smartphones to become verifiable, revenue-generating compute nodes is a significant step towards driving inclusivity and scalability."

After the mainnet launch, Acurast will integrate various development interfaces covering Web3 protocols and enterprise systems, which can be directly embedded into mainstream blockchains and traditional infrastructure, enabling teams to trigger secure off-chain execution in a familiar environment. In addition to empowering decentralized applications (dApps), Acurast also provides enterprises with a censorship-resistant, verifiable backend foundation that can support automation, AI computation, web scraping, infrastructure resilience testing, and various other tasks, helping businesses achieve privacy-preserving computation in compliance or data-sensitive environments.

About Acurast

Acurast is redefining the compute network — without data centers — based on billions of smartphones. The network offers verifiable, scalable, and confidential computing power, enabling users to securely run applications on decentralized infrastructure while balancing speed and privacy.

As of now, Acurast has connected to 146,443+ mobile devices globally, becoming one of the most decentralized verifiable computing networks. Its 85,784+ deployments have supported mission-critical workloads and processed over 4.89 billion on-chain transactions, providing a globally and community-driven compute base for highly secure and AI-driven applications.
