Ethereum Ropsten testnet has been deprecated, Rinkeby testnet will be phased out
BlockBeats: On December 1st, the Ethereum Foundation posted that the Ropsten testnet has been deprecated and will be shut down in the coming weeks. Over the past few months, infrastructure providers have gradually ceased support for this test network and the verification node participation rate has steadily declined, with the vast majority of the remaining verification nodes due to close between December 15 and 31, 2022, after which Ropsten will no longer be supported by customers, testing or infrastructure teams. Rinkeby will also be phased out later.
BlockBeats previously reported that on June 22, the Ethereum Foundation announced it was ditching beta networks such as Ropsten, Rinkeby, and Kiln, but users and developers still have time to complete the migration before it is shut down completely.
