Polygon introduces Polygon ID, a Web3 identity based on zero-knowledge identity
BlockBeats News, March 2, Polygon launched Polygon ID, a Web3 identity service based on zero-knowledge authentication that can verify user credentials without compromising personal data. Polygon ID utilizes the Iden3 protocol and the Circom ZK toolkit, an identity infrastructure that allows anyone to be an issuer, verifier, or holder of a Web3 identity. Off-chain data can now be used for untrusted on-chain authentication in authenticated credentials format.
Polygon ID is supported by Polygon-based cryptographic and NFT projects such as Kaleido, Fractal, and Collab.Land. Polygon ID, which comes with a developer toolkit that verifies user data for blockchain applications while maintaining privacy on the chain, has been integrated into Polygon zkEVM by Polygon Labs core developers and is expected to launch later this month.
