Ethereum core developers held the 131st consensus call to continue promoting Electra upgrade

2024-04-06 11:20
According to BlockBeats, on April 6, the Ethereum core developers held the 131st consensus call (ACDC). At the meeting, the client teams shared the latest progress of the four Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) to be implemented in the next consensus layer hard fork Electra. Ethereum Foundation researchers Alex Stokes and Hsiao-Wei Wang plan to finalize the specifications of the first Electra multi-client developer test network (devnet) by the end of this month. Stokes encouraged the client team to start working on the implementation of the Electra EIP and continue to develop the data availability sampling (peerDAS) of the beacon chain. In addition, the developers also discussed issues related to the Deneb upgrade and the reasons for the abnormal block loss of Ethereum last week. For the Electra upgrade, the client team is currently focusing on implementing proposals such as EIP-6110, EIP-7002, EIP-7251 and EIP-7549. Stokes suggested that developers devote 80% of their resources to implementing the Electra EIP and 20% to peerDAS research, and revisit the strategy of whether to increase the number of blobs in blocks or implement peerDAS in Electra in the coming weeks.
