Singaporean Woman Suspected in Cryptocurrency Scam, 23-Year-Old Man Attempting to Leave the Country Arrested

According to Lianhe Zaobao, a Singaporean woman has been suspected of being involved in a cryptocurrency investment scam since May 2025, having delivered over 1.3 million Singapore dollars to a 23-year-old man. After receiving a report from the bank, the police swiftly launched an investigation and arrested the man, Chen Jiahao, on June 20th at the Woodlands Checkpoint as he attempted to leave the country, seizing two mobile phones and suspected third-party bank cards on the scene. Chen Jiahao was charged with violating the Computer Misuse Act on June 21st, and the case will be further heard on June 27th as the police continue to investigate his alleged fraudulent activities.
