The U.S. House of Representatives Passes Procedural Vote on Cryptocurrency Bill

2025-07-17 01:23

BlockBeats News, July 17th: The U.S. House of Representatives passed a procedural vote on a cryptocurrency bill, establishing the rules for the consideration of the GENIUS Act, the CLARITY Act, and the Anti-Central Bank Digital Currency (Anti-CBDC) Act, with a final vote expected to take place later this week. The vote passed by a slim margin of 215 to 211.

Note: This procedural vote was not a direct vote on the GENIUS, CLARITY, and Anti-CBDC bills themselves, but rather determined the process and rules for the formal debate and vote on these bills in the House of Representatives, known as a "rules of the house" or "rule clause" vote.
