BlockBeats News, October 25th. According to politico report, Donald Trump Jr.'s hunting buddy and North Carolina lobbyist Ches McDowell is becoming one of Washington's highest-earning lobbyists. His company, Checkmate Government Relations, has generated $7.1 million in revenue in just the past three months, despite the company only recently opening its Washington office earlier this year.
According to disclosure reports, Binance hired McDowell at the end of September to lobby on financial policy issues and "administrative relief" matters in the White House and Treasury Department. Binance has paid Checkmate $450,000 for its work over the past month.
However, CZ's quest for pardon has been ongoing for more than just a month. As early as February of this year, just three weeks after Trump was sworn in as President of the United States, Binance and CZ themselves hired prominent cryptocurrency lawyer Teresa Goody Guillén. Trump had considered appointing her as the chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Her law firm's reports indicate that she has received a total of $290,000 in fees from Binance and CZ so far this year.
McDowell and Goody Guillén have not responded to requests for comments.
