Michael Saylor: Bitcoin Volatility has Fallen to Around 50%, Long-Term Performance may Outperform the S&P 500 by 1.5x

2025-11-19 13:55

BlockBeats News, November 19th, according to Cointelegraph report, Strategy founder Michael Saylor dismissed concerns about Wall Street entering the Bitcoin market affecting price and volatility. Michael Saylor stated in an interview on Tuesday: "I think Bitcoin's volatility has been significantly reduced." He mentioned that when he started buying Bitcoin for Strategy in 2020, its annualized volatility was around 80%. Since then, Bitcoin's volatility has been trending downwards and is currently around 50%.

He mentioned that Bitcoin's volatility may further decrease by about 5 percentage points every few years, and as the asset matures, Bitcoin's volatility will approach 1.5 times that of the S&P 500 index, while the "performance will also be 1.5 times better than the S&P 500." Furthermore, Michael Saylor stated that he is not worried about Bitcoin experiencing a larger price drop, as the company is designed to withstand 80% to 90% drawdowns and still operate normally.
