Hackathon DAO Grant-1 is now open for application to further advance the open source world

Hackathon DAO

Since its initial release in November, Hackathon DAO has established contacts with several premium blockchain developer communities. These communities are vibrant with technology research and are constantly producing informative events and incubating technology projects that solve real-world problems. Still, Hackathon DAO found that the open source community suffers from a lack of funding, exposure, and communication. To further promote the open source world, Hackathon DAO hopes to support and connect more open source communities through this grant.

From 2021-12-26 to 2022-03-31, Hackathon DAO Grent-1 offers a $30,000 equivalent $DORA pool to help the park developer community focus on truly valuable technical issues and improve issues facing the open source community. Hackathons based on repo or problem solving, open source projects with continuous iteration, development tutorials, educational content, etc...

What does Hackathon DAO want to support with Grant?

Grant invites blockchain developers from around the world to sign up this season! Such as:

The Hackathon DAO was created to support hackathons. Any hacking activity that solves a real problem fits the Hackathon DAO's definition of a "Hackathon."

Hackathon DAO wants to see:

Open source projects: developer tool platforms, or any project solving a real problem.

Educational content: blockchain related workshops, sharing sessions, video tutorials, blogs, knowledge collection, etc

All work needs to be updated to your BUIDL page milestone and archived on our Hackathon Playbook. These records are important for Hackathon DAO voters to decide whether or not they should support you. The Hackathon DAO staff will assist you through a series of operations.

Application guidelines

4. Join our Discord (https://discord.gg/gVBYGfmwQv), send "Need BUILD Review" on channel #grant- SS21, and our DAO committee will begin reviewing your application as soon as possible. Once approved, your project will be displayed on the Hackathon DAO Grant 2022 S1 page for voting;

What should be included in the application BUIDL page?

The Hackathon DAO Committee will use the information on the BUIDL page to verify the authenticity of the application community, and voters will use the information on the BUIDL page to decide whether to support you or not. To facilitate identification and confirmation, please be sure to include the following information in your application:

Voting and appropriations

This Grant will use the Hackathon DAO token $HAC (HACKER VOICE) to decide the final Grant allocation through a secondary vote. The voting results will be posted on the Hackathon DAO Grant 2022 S1 page. The final allocation of funds will be determined by the vote and distributed directly to applicants after a grace period.

How do I get a voting token

The Hackathon DAO token $HAC (HACKER VOICE) is designed to document an individual's contribution to the Hackathon DAO as well as his/her technical capabilities. Currently, there are two ways to get Hackathon's voting tokens:

If accepted, you will receive $1 HAC that can be used as a vote.  

Forced the ️ & have spent Token applicants with solid technical achievements or who are recommended by Hackathon DAO contributors will be more likely to pass the review.

Grace period

Hackathon DAO encourages you to update your community's progress on your application page via the Milestone on the BUIDL page so that all interested people know about you and vote. If you don't submit any milestone updates and don't add anything to the Hackathon Playbook by 2022-03-21, this Grant will deactivate your BUIDL during the grace period and you won't get any bonuses.

Grant release

Each applicant is required to submit a wallet address. If the applicant passes the grace period and receives the grant, the prize money will be distributed to your wallet at 2022-03-28.

In addition, the Hackathon DAO will airdrop $HAC to participating projects based on the results of the vote, making it easier for the contributors to participate in future Hackathon DAO decisions.

Finally, applicants who receive more than 100 votes will be added to the Hackathon DAO whitelist until the end of the next funding season. This will be a solid endorsement of future funding, exclusive opportunities, and special collaborations with Hackathon DAO.
