BlockBeats reported on September 26th that modular blockchain Celestia has announced the launch of its airdrop. 7,579 developers and 576,653 on-chain addresses will have the opportunity to join Celestia from the first block. Eligible participants can claim up to 60 million TIA (Celestia's native asset) before October 17, 2023, at 8:00 PM. One-third of the airdrop total will be allocated to 7,579 developers, including public product and key protocol infrastructure, Eth Research, and public contributors to the modular DA layer (such as Avail, EigenLayer, and Solana). Two-thirds of the airdrop total will be allocated to 576,653 on-chain addresses, including 20 million TIA allocated to the most active users of Ethereum rollups, and 20 million TIA allocated to stakers and IBC relayers of Cosmos Hub and Osmosis. Celestia's native asset TIA is an important part of the development of the first modular blockchain network. In order to use Celestia to provide data availability, Rollup developers submit PayForBlobs transactions on the network and charge a certain fee in TIA.
