WAGMI is an acronym for "We're All Gonna Make It" and can be literally translated as "We will all succeed.”
Usually people use it when they make some trading or investment decision and expect good news in the future. Then this person can say: "I believe Bitcoin will soar and I and other investors will become millionaires, WAGMI!" This expresses his confidence and optimism in himself and the entire Crypto market.
The term WAGMI originated from a video posted by bodybuilder Zyzz, which was later uploaded to YouTube by Jamie Tree in 2012. In the video, Zyzz encouraged Young people are actively participating in sports to improve their physical health. Thanks to Zyzz's wide influence, WAGMI spread rapidly at that time. It wasn’t until around 2020 that the term became popular in the Crypto community via Reddit, and eventually became part of Crypto culture.
There is another word in the Crypto community that is very similar to WAGMI: NGMI, but its meaning is exactly the opposite, used to imply that someone will not succeed.
