Yield Guild Games (YGG) is a game guild focusing on the blockchain game Play-2-Earn. This is a community/DAO that invests in NFT assets and connects blockchain gamers around the world. Their goal is to build a community of players and investors so that they can help each other and grow together in the NFT gaming field.

The idea of creating a global P2E gaming community emerged in 2018. Gabby Dizon, co-founder and CEO of YGG, noticed that blockchain gaming is becoming popular in Southeast Asia. At the time, many gamers wanted to start playing the popular NFT game Axie Infinity, but they didn’t have the money to purchase the in-game NFT characters, Axies. Dizon began lending his Axies to other players. This ultimately led him to co-found Yield Guild Games with Beryl Li in 2020 to help gamers thrive in the NFT and blockchain gaming world.

YGG also issued the token YGG. YGG is an ERC-20 token that gives holders the right to participate in the governance of YGG DAO. Its total supply is 1 billion, with 25 million YGG being sold through IDO on SushiSwap in 2021. As the native token of the platform, YGG can be used to pay for services on the platform. It can also be staked to earn rewards in the YGG Vault, or used to unlock exclusive content on the YGG Discord channel. Additionally, YGG holders can submit proposals and vote on decisions regarding the guild’s technology, products, projects, token distribution, and overall governance structure.
