Introduction

If you are also an NFT game player, you should be quite familiar with Axie Infinity. Collection games based on Ethereum have continued to gain popularity since their debut in 2018. What is Ronin wallet?

As mentioned above, Ronin Wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet running in the Ethereum side chain Ronin network and can be used as a browser plug-in or mobile App (available for Android and iOS systems).

In addition to allowing users to interact with the popular game Axie Infinity, Ronin Wallet can also interact with other decentralized applications (DApps) running on the Ronin blockchain. After creating a Ronin wallet, you can log in to the Axie Infinity market to create a personal account and start playing.

You can also use Ronin Wallet to send and receive cryptocurrencies and NFTs without paying high gas fees. Currently, the Ronin wallet can store Wrapped Ethereum (WETH), Axie Infinity Shard (AXS), USDC, and Smooth Love Potion (SLP).

Players can obtain two ERC-20 tokens, AXS and SLP, by completing daily tasks and competing with other players in Axie Infinity. From November 2021, you can use AXS and SLP to breed new Axies. However, the need to breed AXS may be removed in the future and the token will become a pure governance token. You can also trade SLP on cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance. The Ronin wallet has been integrated with Binance, allowing users to directly transfer their NFT and cryptocurrency holdings by paying a small gas fee.

To create a Ronin wallet, you can install the plug-in on Chrome or Firefox. You can also download the mobile app in the App Store and Google Play. Beware of fake apps.

How to create a Ronin wallet?

Ronin Wallet is available as a mobile App or browser plug-in. This guide uses browser plug-ins as an example.

1. First, add the Ronin wallet browser plug-in to Chrome or Firefox.

2. Open the plug-in and click [Start]. You will be directed to the Ronin wallet settings page. Now, click on [I'm a new user, let's start setting up! ].

3. Set a strong password for the wallet and click [Create Wallet].

4. Hidden mnemonics can be viewed here. Click [Show Mnemonic Phrase] and record it. The mnemonic phrase should be kept securely in case the wallet needs to be retrieved in the future. Please do not share your mnemonic phrase with others.

5. Now you need to enter the mnemonic phrase you just wrote down. Next, click [Continue] to use Ronin wallet!

Before clicking to continue, you must understand that Ronin wallet is a non-custodial service and others cannot access your funds. Ronin’s developers Also no permissions. If your mnemonic phrase or private key is lost, stolen, or destroyed, no one can help you recover your wallet. Therefore, the mnemonic phrase must always be written down and stored in two or three different locations so that the account can be retrieved if something goes wrong.

6. Now that you have created a Ronin wallet, click on the browser plug-in to open the wallet interface.

You can see the wallet name [account number] at the top of the interface, followed by the Ronin wallet address. This address is required when accessing assets. The [Assets] section shows the current balance of ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721NFT tokens. Click [Activity] to view transaction history.

How to create an Axie Infinity account using Ronin wallet?

The steps to create an Axie Infinity account are as follows:

1. Visit the Axie market and click [Login].

2. Select [Log in using Ronin wallet] and click [Confirm] to allow the game to associate Ronin wallet.

3. Now, select the username and click [Save]. In order to complete the setup, you should add your email address and create a password to ensure account security. Axie Infinity account registration completed.

How to buy Axie

Ronin wallet does not support ETH, only ETH Wrapped Ethereum (WETH). To purchase Axie, you need to recharge WETH in Ronin wallet. There are two options:

Option 1. Personal Wallet (ETH) → Ronin Bridge → Ronin Wallet (WETH).

The first option is to use a personal wallet (such as MetaMask or Binance Chain wallet) to convert ETH to WETH through the Ronin Bridge. You pay for gas in Ether. If you don’t have Ethereum, you can buy it on Binance (follow the steps below).

Option 2. Binance (WETH) → Ronin Wallet (WETH).

If your personal Binance account has Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) deposited in it, you can transfer it directly from Binance to your Ronin wallet through the Ronin Network (RON). In this case, you don't need to use MetaMask or Binance Chain wallet. This option is more ideal because you don’t have to pay Ethereum gas fees. However, Binance has not yet launched the WETH market. Therefore, if you only have ETH but no WETH, you can only choose option 1.

As long as there is WETH in your Ronin wallet, you can associate your Ronin wallet with the Axie Infinity market and buy Axie from other players.

How to buy ETH on Binance

1. Log in to your personal Binance account and open [Transaction] tab and select [Advanced] trading interface.

2. Hover the cursor over the trading pair displayed on the left side of the screen and enter ETH in the search bar. In this example, we use [ETH/BUSD].

3. Select the order type and enter the amount. Click [Buy ETH] to submit the order.

Now that we have ETH, let’s see how to transfer it to a personal Ronin wallet.

How to bridge ETH and Ronin bridge

1. Prepare cryptocurrencies such as MetaMask or Binance Chain wallet wallet.

2. Hover the cursor over the [Wallet] menu tab and select [Fiat Currency and Spot].

3. Search for ETH and click [Withdraw].

4. Paste the Ethereum ERC-20 address you want to deposit. This will serve as the storage address for an external wallet (such as MetaMask).

5. Click [Network] and select [Ethereum (ERC20)].

6. Check the transaction details and click [Withdraw] to send ETH.

7. Next, visit the Ronin Bridge website and click [Recharge]. Associate a MetaMask with the displayed popup.

8. Click [Next] to complete the wallet association.

9. Log in to Ronin wallet and copy the Ronin wallet address to the [Ronin address] column. If you don't have a Ronin wallet yet, please scroll up to the "How to create a Ronin wallet" section.

10. Click [Assets] and select the assets to be recharged. In this example we will deposit ETH.

11. Click [Next] to confirm the details and bridge the tokens to Ronin wallet. Please note that you must pay transaction fees, which are calculated based on Ethereum gas fees.

12. Before playing the game, you need to purchase Axie and form your own Axie team. Log in to the Axie Market and select the Ronin wallet option. If you have never created an Axie account, you must perform the above steps. Users logging in for the first time will see instructions on how to set up an account.

How to transfer tokens from Binance to Ronin wallet (RON network)?

Starting in November 2021, you can withdraw AXS, SLP or WETH from Binance to your personal Ronin wallet. This method does not require the use of MetaMask or other external wallets, and therefore does not have to pay Ethereum gas fees.

1. Visit [Wallet] and select [Fiat Currency and Spot].

2. Search for WETH and click [Withdraw].

3. Paste the Ronin address to receive the tokens. This will serve as the deposit address for Ronin wallet. Note that you need to replace the prefix "ronin:" with "0x".

4. Then, select the RON network, enter the amount and click [Withdraw].

5. Confirm the withdrawal and wait patiently until Ronin wallet receives WETH.

How to conduct Ronin wallet transactions

1. Open the Ronin wallet plug-in and click [Send].

2. Paste the receiving address and select the asset (WETH, AXS or SLP). Then, enter the amount and click [Next].

3. Finally, verify the details and click [Confirm]. Ronin offers 100 free transactions every day and you don’t have to pay transaction fees.
